Q & A with Larry & Deanne
What did God teach you while you were there?
Larry: He taught me about faith and trust and how that overcomes fear. How praising God and singing His word helps overcome fears. I learned about persevering faith and the results that I saw from that from Ed and Rosa and Nohema and all those who have spent years and years working with children in difficult circumstances.
Deanne: That he is faithful and hears our prayers and others
What was your favorite and least favorite thing about this trip?
Larry: Learning/being inspired by the workers and children at Lily. Maybe the crazy roads that we took to some amazingly beautiful places. Certainly was an object lesson in faith versus fear. :-)
Deanne: As always, the people! For me, Deanne, it was the headaches that I get from altitude sickness and some dizziness from the driving on rough roads.
What did God teach you about yourself?
Larry: When I am weak, I'm strong. God always comes through, even when I am less than adequate. It is good to be pushed out of my comfort zone, for there I encounter God's help and power and adequacy.
Deanne: That I enjoy being with people but I also need to step back and rest for stamina.
